Internships at konsep.net (2015)

As in previous years, in early 2015 konsep.net again welcomed interns from vocational high schools (SMK) and universities.

Qiqi, from the University of Lampung, spent a month with us working on parts of a project and several proofs of concept. The work was a real help — including an Android app, SimpleGPS, which we use to capture and log locations simply. We'd struggled to find anything like it on the app stores; what was available didn't quite fit our needs. We put it to work supporting our field surveys for WisataLokal and SaveMillions. Qiqi also built an app to display news from RDMB, along with several proof-of-concept features on Android.

The team from SMKN 4 Bandung — Gugum, Andi, Fernanda, Nando, and Ozan — gave us a big hand on WisataLokal over a month and a half, and went on to work on a proof of concept for a product we were about to launch.

One thing we really appreciated about this group: they were courteous, gave their best effort, eager to learn something new, diligent, and never complained — much like our earlier interns from ITHB, Maranatha, and a campus in Salatiga.

We hope that, just as we benefited from these students, they took away real experience and value from their time with us. Our thanks to the teachers and lecturers who guided them. And for any SMK or university students who are interested, konsep / netdesain's doors are open for internships.
